Dumbsteppaz - 8 Free Remixes (Jeremih, Ray Keith, Ludacris, more)!

The Dumbsteppaz were kind enough to put out this pack of EIGHT dope remixes they’ve done of everything from the classic dnb tune “Terrorist” by Ray Keith to Jeremih - Birthday Sex.  Big collaborations with 6blocc and Drum Unit on this one too.  I’ve played a few of these in the past on Dubstepped Radio, happy to put the whole lot of them out now. Double Drop 004 with NTRLD, Thurgood, Kid Simple and more plus a Free Megalodon Remix

Out last Sunday on Double Drop Recordings is this heavy EP titled “In Sub We Trust” featuring the productions of Fused Forces, NTRLD & Thurgood, Kid Simple, and Stressor.  My pick of the EP is definitely “Pills” which brings a deep subbassline and a wobbled-out synth that spans both ends of the frequency spectrum.  Watch out for that repetitive electronic music.  “Where You Left ” has melodic pads over a big shuffly beat that reminds me of some of Emalkay’s productions.  “Break” is a syncopated rhythm guaranteed to get bodies moving on the dancefloor, and “Strange Forces” is a headbanger with distorted wobbly midrange synths and a rugged beat.  On the whole it’s a dirty EP worth checking out especially for lovers of Roommate, Ultrablack, Stenchman, Richie August and the related artists.

To promote the release label reps Megalodon are putting out this major bootleg remix they did of Buju Banton’s “Vigilante.”  Serious riddim on this one, watch for more things coming from Megalodon in the near future… until then get on the DL!

The Widdler - Alias bw Stand by You

The Widdler from New Jersey comes with another big release, out today on Dubstep Records.  Two tunes of a deeper vein which is definitely refreshing to my ears.  Loving this sound.  Recommended if you like FBOM, VVV, Jus Wan, Synkro, J:Kenzo, and related.

The Widdler - Alias

Seriously deep sounds on “Alias” with a really shuffly broken beat and a lush lead synth.  It’s like Zomby’s bleeps meets Ramadanman’s rhythms.  Love this sound, this is seriously danceable.

The Widdler - Stand By You

The b-side is for the fans of harder music, with bleeps floating about over a serious 4×4 beat.  The percussion is excellent in this one, it feels like it’s going to lift my feet off the floor.  Major release here.  I’d have to pick the A-side as my favorite just cause I love a chopped up beat, but this release is a win-win.

Free Bootlegs from DZ & Rastatronics

Whoa gosh. I’ve been waiting for this comfortably numb refix since hearing it when Rastatronics opened for Rusko here in SF. Pretty sure the DZ Eastern Jam redub was played the same night in a sort of eastern jam remix medley. Both these are straight fire and are being given away for free from the men like DZ and Rastatronics via badmanpress.com.

Major Lazer - Hold The Line (Kozee Remix)

Kozee

Third free tune today comes from Kozee here in San Francisco. This one’s a remix of Major Lazer - Hold The Line featuring Mr. Lexx and Santogold.  Major Lazer is Diplo and Switch, bringing the number of big names involved in this remix to 5.  The original is sick, and the remix does not disappoint.  If this doesn’t make you dance you’ve got something wrong with your booty.

If you’re feeling this, don’t miss the next Makeout session on the 22nd.

Download this tune via Soundcloud, or download the original.

HD4000 - Fake Rekkidz and Guess Who

HD4000Next up is a pair of tunes from Bakersfield, CA based production duo HD4000 made up of Odeed (left) and Wish (right).  They just wrecked shop at Headband in Santa Cruz by all accounts last weekend.  Keep your eyes out for dates with them on the West coast.

The first tune is ‘Fake Rekkidz’ which is a big refix of Dead Prez’s wobbly hiphop anthem ‘Hip Hop.’  This one’s dangerous, bonefide party rocker.

‘Guess Who’ is the second tune given out which is my personal favorite of the pair.  The original from Black Uhuru is an all time favorite reggae tune of mine so I’m really feeling this remix.  Big tings.

Bassnectar - Bassnectar’s Superstylin Smashup

BassnectarI’m happy to post three sets of free tunes today, the first coming from San Francisco basswise badman Bassnectar. He also recently handed out his Kingston Town refix, get on that if you missed it the first time.  This one’s a rework of Groove Armada’s 2001 track “Superstylin.” This starts out pretty mellow and then a tyrannosaurus rex wobble comes in to take over the scene.  It’s reminiscent of the original but more dubstepwise.

Bassnectar is about to start a US tour this May and has a new single forthcoming with Tapper Zukie on the mic.  Big respect, keep an eye out especially West coasters for tour dates in your area, full list here.

Mims - Move If You Wanna (gWorm Dubstep Edit)

gWormNice refix of Mims - Move If You Wanna by gWorm out of Dallas / Fort Worth Texas.  Mims supplies the flow and the beats, gWorm adds a nice synth and pitches it down to the 140 range.  Something about 140 just feels natural to me.  Enjoying this refix… it’s the dirtier south.

Check the tune out below, or just download the 320.  Dirty south rap plus dubstep is a winning combination for me, see also work by HTown, Dread Foxx, and surely others.

Bassnectar - Kingston Town Refix

Bassnectar

Oh gosh. RIDDIM!!!

Of all the remixes of Alborosie’s monster jam Kingston Town I’ve always been the most into this Bassnectar remix. It’s been smashed in mixes and on the radio for months now, and just this week Bassnectar posted it free to the world via his podcast. Massive respect to the man like Bassnectar. This tune is FIRE!!!

In case you were wondering, this is the face you should be making ——>

Check it out on his podcast, listen and download the MP3 below.

DJG - Ghost Town Refix & Late Night Blues

DJG - Ghost Town & Late Night BluesI’ve been going crazy about these tunes for quite some time now, and yesterday DJG posted them available for free on The Dubstep Forum. Scope them out here if you want, and then download them on the forum. Make sure to give respect as both of these are LARGE - no question. Out to DJG - top producer, top dj. There’s an excellent story of the long history of this tune on his blog. I was at the Narco.hz session he mentions and remember this tune blowing up the spot. Can’t believe it was made just for that night, top quality. Proper DUBstep.
