Description: Slayers Club is responsible for the popular, cutting-edge weekly “Terenga - Global Bass Sessions” at Little Baobab (”The best weekly in San Francisco” -Kid Kameleon/XLR8R Magazine, Surya Dub).
Coming at you from all directions, Slayers Club defies traditional boundaries by seamlessly merging dance music genres into a foot-stomping, sweat-inducing freakout firmly rooted in Bass Music Culture.
We’re celebrating our one year anniversary as a crew by bringing you some very special guests at a low, low price:
DAVID LAST w/ MC ZULU
Brooklyn NY resident and False Profits affiliate David Last makes tracks which combine the soundcraft of contemporary electronic music with the deeper-leaning funk of dancehall, dub, latin music and hip hop.
His tracks are currently released with labels like Staubgold (Berlin), The Agriculture (NYC), and Foundsound (Philly). His full length CD “The Push Pull” has gained crtical acclaim and a sizable cult following in Europe, the USA, and Japan, as has his recent Staubgold release with genius ragga vocalist MC ZULU.
The overall sound and vibe of Panamanian-Born MC Zulu (Ninja Tune, Chicago IL) is one of the Caribbean immigrants who came to America just in time to pick up on both cultures.
Like any “Born Jamerican-esque” Dancehall hybrid, the fact that it’s 75% party, with catchy, pop-anthem choruses will reel you in. The remaining 25% however, is why you’ll respect him.
He has recently collaborated with notable artists such as Ghislain Poirier, Aceyalone, Frikstailers, DJ C and Kush Arora, just to name a few. His electrifying live performances are not to be missed!
With support from:
Mochipet (Daly City Records)
Kush Arora (Surya Dub, RecordLabel Records)
Slayers Club featuring Lokae, Manitous, Professor Bang, Freddie Future, Matt Haze and Joe Mousepad on the microphone.
Having recently shared the bill with such future-forward international acts as The Glitch Mob, Flying Lotus, Kush Arora, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Kraddy, Ana Sia, Mochipet, the Slayers Club has emerged as a champion of cutting edge music, and strong supporters of the San Francisco underground music community.
After playing at LoveEvolution 2009 to a crowd of more than 100,000 with the TRBL and Fringe crews, Slayers Club is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the bubbling cauldron of creativity that is the San Francisco electronic music scene.
Deftly combining all music genres, from Dubstep to Electro, Future Crunk to Drum & Bass, the Slayers Club brings it heavy every time.
