Dread Foxx Free Remix Pack (Q-Project, Remarc, Fugees, Doc Scott, Blackstreet)

Port Arthur, TX producer Dread Foxx just put up six bootleg remixes for free download via his Soundcloud and I thought I’d pass along the love.  Mr. Foxx is a big remixer and these hit hard, trust me.  Inside there’s remixes of classic dnb tunes, R&B, and rap.  Personally I’m all over the Champion Sound remix, the remix of DJ Zinc’s “Ready or Not” (Fugees on the original), Remarc’s RIP in a dubstep style and the sexy step vibes of the Blackstreet reworking.  I’ve linked all these below, for even more freebies visit his Soundcloud.

Sines - Deja Vu (freebie!)

Houston, TX based duo Sines put this track out for free today and I’ve gotta pass it along.  Really excellent vibes here, extremely lush melodies that make me think of frolicking about in some forest glade on a sunny afternoon like this one.  Shuffly 2 step rhythms keep you dancing and the bassline rounds it out.  Excellent sound selections here, this is a different direction than a lot of music coming out these days.  This would ride very nicely next to some El B, Oris Jay, Pangaea, Brackles, and other 2steppy producers.  Giving it out for free is a big look.

gWorm - Hiphop Meets Wobble Mix

gWorm

gWorm from Dallas Fort Worth brings some southern dubstep flavor with this one in a BIG, wobbly mix featuring a bunch of hiphop & dubstep mashups to start off the set.  All in all most tunes have vocals, many with hiphop influences.  Wobbles are large in this one, you know any mix with Chainsaw Calligraphy in it is serious.  If you dunno about that track listen to this mix and get to know.  Sam Supa and Kozee once had a ‘filth-off’ at the makeout sessions here in San Francisco and the finale was Chainsaw Calligraphy - there’s simply nowhere to go from there.

I’m really feeling this hiphop & dubstep hybrid, but I’ve always been a sucker for the mashups.  Beyond that though the selection on this mix is ace and the mixing is excellent.  Big respect to gWorm, loving this sound.  If you’re feeling this vibe and are interested in similar sounds check out gWorm’s edit of Move If You Wanna and the Totally Unauthorized comp by MRK1 and Chimpo.

Dread Foxx - No Coke on Eye Ten Recordings

Eyeten Recordings

Dread Foxx from Port Arthur, Tx comes with another big dubstep refix, this time of Dr. Alban - No Coke.  The synth feel of the original is maintained but augmented with a bubbly dubstep bassline. One for the straight edge massive.

Mims - Move If You Wanna (gWorm Dubstep Edit)

gWormNice refix of Mims - Move If You Wanna by gWorm out of Dallas / Fort Worth Texas.  Mims supplies the flow and the beats, gWorm adds a nice synth and pitches it down to the 140 range.  Something about 140 just feels natural to me.  Enjoying this refix… it’s the dirtier south.

Check the tune out below, or just download the 320.  Dirty south rap plus dubstep is a winning combination for me, see also work by HTown, Dread Foxx, and surely others.

VVV - Untitled 4

VVVAnother with deep vibes here from VVV in Austin, Tx.  I love it when voices get abstracted to the point of noises, not saying words as much as being another instrument in the music.  The snare on this song is also effected to oblivion and fits the sound extremely well.  Much respect.

VVV was also kind enough to make this song available for free in 320: download it.

Outlaw Producer & Troubleman - Extra

Outlaw Producer

Trouble Man

Today I’m happy to post a tune out of the Austin, Tx production duo of Outlaw Producer and Trouble Man. This beat is done in a wonky style and is sick. Putting it up here because the split between this, dubstep, grime, crunk, glitch hop, and etc is sort of meaningless at times. This song is excellent, and would compete with any Joker, Guido, Gemmy, Rustie, or Jakes tune in my book. Serious business. Take note.

Dread Foxx - Everything I Do Refix

Dread Foxx

A second tune from Dread Foxx today - the Everything I Do Refix.  This tune is a monster!  A wobbly, dirty dubstep refix of Bun B - You’re Everything featuring an all-star cast of dirty south rappers.  The original samples Jodeci which takes me way back and fits super well with both the original and this refix.  I’d leave if this didn’t blow up the club.  Reminds me of the refixes on that bootleg comp put out by MRK1 and Chimpo a while ago. Biggun!

Dread Foxx - Line Up

Dread FoxxDread Foxx out of Port Arthur, Tx comes with a heavy refix of a wicked dancehall tune.  This is precisely the kind of dubstep that got me into the genre in the first place and would fit really nicely with some Mungo’s Hi Fi riddims or Disrupt.  Dub it!!

Sines - Dem Dayz

Sines - click for myspace

If Sines, VVV, and FBOM are any indication, Texas dubstep is doing big things.  This tune ‘Dem Dayz’ by Sines is synth-heavy, melodic dubstep with a vocal sample that slays. Watch out for the sax sample and the bird-like atmospherics in the second half, their addition really takes this tune to a new level.  Very well produced tune that really takes you somewhere.  Lays down nicely next to some Synkro, Pangaea, Bar 9, DFRNT, or F.
