Dubbel Dutch mix for URB and Free Funky South Tune

Dubbel Dutch (Soundcloud, Twitter) hailing from Austin comes with more goods for today with an exclusive mix for URB magazine and a free tune featured on FACT.  The mix showcases a blend of funky/house/bass styles chock full of dubplates from Dubbel Dutch himself, Bok Bok, Ghosts on Tape and more.  Keep a lookout for this man, he’s been representing the Lone Star state to the fullest.

Paired with this URB mix he’s got a free tune out thanks to FACT magazine which is a remix of Parson’s “I Rep the Dirty South” done up in a funky/bass style that I’ve glibly called Funky South.  Look out for more along these lines from Sines who’s been putting out some great dirty south juke/bass tunes lately.  You can grab the tune over at FACT for a week only!

VVV – Untitled 4

VVVAnother with deep vibes here from VVV in Austin, Tx.  I love it when voices get abstracted to the point of noises, not saying words as much as being another instrument in the music.  The snare on this song is also effected to oblivion and fits the sound extremely well.  Much respect.

VVV was also kind enough to make this song available for free in 320: download it.

Outlaw Producer & Troubleman – Extra

Outlaw Producer

Trouble Man

Today I’m happy to post a tune out of the Austin, Tx production duo of Outlaw Producer and Trouble Man. This beat is done in a wonky style and is sick. Putting it up here because the split between this, dubstep, grime, crunk, glitch hop, and etc is sort of meaningless at times. This song is excellent, and would compete with any Joker, Guido, Gemmy, Rustie, or Jakes tune in my book. Serious business. Take note.

FBOM – DMDS

FBOM - click for myspace

This the second tune from Austin, Tx based producer FBOM.  This one is much darker than the first, though you wouldn’t know it given the first half of the tune.  2nd drop is gritty!  Chillin out with a nice halfstep riddim for the first half of the song with more techy dubstep reminiscent of 2562 or Martyn.  First the beat doubletimes, then come the dutty synths in the rinseout.  Second drop is a killer.  It’s like Rusko meets Basic Channel.  Things calm back down for the outro as the sound strips back down to dubbed out synths and thick bass.  Really enjoying this one.

If you’re enjoying this check out his album Excavations on digital-tunes.

FBOM – Feel

FBOM - click for myspace

This is the first of two tunes that I’m going to post from another Austin, Tx producer, FBOM.  This tune, Feel, has a very full sound space that builds around a heavily syncopated consistent beat.  Excellent balance between glitchy effects on the lead synths and the rolling bassline.  The snares are nearly unaltered during the song but it’s almost necessary given the amount of diversity in the melody.   Fans of Martyn, 2562, and Ramadanman should check this, and also his debut album Excavations on digital-tunes. Big tune.

VVV – émeute

VVV

This tune was graciously made available on the dubstep forum by VVV out of Austin, Tx.  It’s a really lush mellow stepper with a dark garage feel that reminds one of DFRNT, Burial, or Synkro.  Excellent use of vocal effects and subtle clicks.  Feeling this one.
